The National English Hubs Network was established in 2018 as part of the DfE's Social Mobility Action Plan. 34 schools have been designated as English Hubs with a specific focus on improving early language and the teaching of reading teaching in Key Stage 1 and Early Years.

The Kernow English Hub supports schools to raise standards in the teaching of early language, systematic synthetic phonics and to develop a reading for pleasure pedagogy.

We work with a range of providers and national experts, including: The Open University, National Literacy Trust, Elklan, I CAN, Voice 21 and Ofsted to deliver guidance, resources and CPD to leaders, teachers, and support staff across Cornwall.
